Workshops are held in Aoyama Museum that present a simplified version of Genjiko, which is one style of Kodo (“Way of Incense,” a fun ceremony to identify types of incense).
Participants try to identify which of five types of incense are the same, using diagrams derived from symbols that appear (Genjiko-no-Zu) in the Tale of Genji to indicate their answer. Participants will receive a scented insert (Fumiko, or “letter incense”) as a free gift.
This experience is available for from one to five people at a time.
